Day out - hiking trip Milngavie to Drymen

Let's go out and enjoy a bit of nature. We will do a hike from Milngavie to Drymen which is the first part of West Highland Way.

It is 19 km of not very demanding walk. We will start at Glasgow and take a train to Milngavie. Approximately after 12 kilometres we'll have a stop at Beech Tree Inn to recharge our batteries. There is a bus station nearby, so those who are aiming for a short hike can take a bus to Milngavie and train back to Glasgow. Those who hang on and reach Drymen can go by a bus from Drymen to Balloch and train back to Glasgow.

I am up for this but thinking of driving to Milngavie or Drymen and leaving the car - will work out logistics

Hi all. Just checking of those going, who is plannng on driving? I'm going to take a car and ideally we'll be able to leave 1 or more car at Drymen and another a Milngavie so we can ferry the Drymen car driver back at the start and people back to Milngavie at the end of the walk. We have at least 6 people going so far. Anyone doing the short walk will probably need to get the bus unless again there is more than one driver doing it? Let us know and we can coordinate! :-)

Hi Teresa, I am planning to get the train to Milngavie rather than drive. If it looks like we need some cars I am happy to change my plan and drive! Let me know what you think. I plan to walk to Drymen.
